Men parking over my driveway

Every so often I have neighbours’ tradesmen parking across my driveway and it really pisses me off. There is tons of parking on the street so they do it out of sheer laziness, not wanting to park an extra 10 or 15 feet away, or even directly across the road. They never, ever knock on my door to ask if it’s ok/say that they’ll move straight away if I need them to.

What annoys me as much as the selfish parking in the first place is that, without fail, these men are always rude and sneering if I ask them to move their vans. As though I’m in the wrong for not wanting them to park over my drive and more than once they’ve suggested that I’m an inept driver for not wanting to attempt to manoeuvre round their vans. I’m a perfectly capable driver but I don’t want to bloody try to get round their van and risk scraping my husband’s car which is parked next to mine. I want them to not park over my dropped kerb in the first place!

They’re just lazy arses.

I know, I just wanted to rant about these lazy arses, having dealt with another one of them today Grin

But in all seriousness, it’s really unpleasant having these interactions with these blokes who obviously know where I live and are always unpleasant, no matter how polite I’ve been in asking them to move.

I’ve had them park back over my drive when I’ve left, so I have to stop in the middle of the road when coming home, to ask them to move again.

That’s awful. I just don’t understand the mentality of people that deliberately block people’s drives and then aren’t even the slightest bit sheepish when asked to move.

I got this a lot at our old house, one of the reasons we moved. Post and delivery vans, neighbours, work vans. Drove me potty.
