Christening present

I'm looking for a traditional silver christening present- probably an old style drinking thimble goblet thingie.
Does anyone know of a good brand/christening place? It's for a European relative and they do very formal christenings.
Thanks!

DC2 got an engraved tankard from his godmother which gets regular use; might add a British twist?

That sounds good, as a child I was given a smaller thing- almost like a drinking cup size.
I need to investigate but I was interested in what you would consider traditional brands for silver- like Spode, Royal Doulton type of name recognition?
They are quite attached to 'names' if that makes sense.

Hate stuff like that. Just sits on a shelf.

I agree with you... they seem to be very traditional in my part of the world, I guess it's a family thing?

Does sound very traditional. You could go against tradition and be a rebel 🤣

Sounds like tat. Unless you are certain the parents will love it just stick money in the child’s bank account, get a beautiful book or buy vouchers for something to do like a farm park.

Oh I know it is not an option, this is what I need to get why is why I was wondering where to look!
I would have given a book personally, but that is 'not allowed'.
I've made peace with it, I just don't really know which shop/brand to turn to.

I got my friends son a silver Noah's ark money box and I got it from Amazon
You can get some cute things I was really surprised

I don't know what your budget is , but if you look at the Tiffany website they have silver baby things but be warned a spoon can cost £100 , BUT if they like brand names , maybe they would like something smaller but with the brand and beautifully packaged & whether the rest of care about brands or not - if that is what they like - I think it would be hard for you to be out branded . Good luck I bought my DS a pair of silver cufflinks from Asprey for his Christening but again v expensive & more for the long term rather than just a baby thing.

We got a lovely silver rabbit money box for DD1's christening with her name engraved. I think it was from not on the high street.
If you need a "name" I know John Lewis sell similar items and their probably well known names
