Would you send your child to school with a cough?

DS was given piriton from his medicine bag yesterday because he was coughing quite frequently and they were worried it was an allergy

Anyway, he was absolutely fine when he got home. Running about as usual - but coughing here and there every so often

This morning he won't stop coughing! He's still his smiley, hyper self but the sound is infuriating. It's such a sharp cough!

He doesn't seem bothered though

I can still send him in can't I? Sorry he's reception age and I'm new to all this Blush

Only if they had a temp or were otherwise unwell. Both of my DC have almost constant coughs over the winter, they would never be in school if I kept them off when they were coughing.

I also wouldn't test for covid.

Yes. Dd school allow then in with covid too!
But if seems well yes i would.

My youngest has a cough, but linked to allergies then can never shift it normally 8 weeks a time. Cant keep them off 8 weeks!

My son currently has a chesty cough i kept him off today as he was up a lot last night ,he's disabled and goes to a special school, they have children with profound and multiple learning disabilities there ,so I asked his teacher did I need to test him ,and she said as long as he's well enough to come to school to send him in.

My eldest has had a cough for about 4 weeks. Still in school. Can’t keep them off forever!
