Do you let your 5 year old watch YouTube?

During lockdown, mh struggles and other things my 5 year old ended up having a lot more screen time than I'd have liked,he plies his older brother and always wants to watch "games" videos, I only let him watch the ones that are appropriate but I'm sure it's affecting ring his concentration/ability to focus.
he does like playing with his toys but he also whinges for YouTube constantly.
I really want to get in a better routine and limit screen time (at least, limit the YouTube drivel!)
Should I just ban YouTube out right? It's like it's addictive
how much screen time do your 5 year olds have?

I don't let my 12 and 10 year olds watch it - it's blocked. I unblock it if they need it for something specific, like links to school work resources. It's just a cesspit of banality plus the content restrictors do not work at all effectively. There is a lot of good and useful content on there (thank you YouTube for showing me how to fix my boiler/ mend a pulled thread/ unblock the toilet/ use alpine poles) but kids gravitate to what is basically just shouting and adverts. I'd rather they played Fortnite (which they do). At least there's a post to it and you socialise and use strategy/ have to think and cooperate while you're playing.

Yes I think you just need an age limit! My 3 yo isn't allowed to do everything his big siblings do, my 6 yo isn't allowed to do everything his big sibling does... I understand it can be really hard to instigate those limits though.
