Hi. Has anyone been to this? Are the cheap tickets ok?
Thinking of taking my dad and my 2 grown up sons next year.
Thank you 😊

It is good but be aware, it is very very long. Like a whole day basically! And the leg room isn't great.

TeenDivided · 09/10/2022 10:40

We were nearly at the back of the stalls and they were fine. There were some high up bits we couldn't see and that was it. Also some bits we could see that those further forward couldn't.
When are they booking to at the moment?

bruffin · 09/10/2022 10:50

I have been 3 times, my DD was obsessed!
I have been back row of gods and front row stalls ,( lottery) , and also bought day tickets in the stalls which were good value
I wouldn't buy the cheap tickets in the gods again. We went over 2 nights but couldn't see hardly anything. DH got a head ache because it he was looking through bottom of his varifocals.
I've also done over 2 days and in one day and I preferred the one day, I do live within an hour from theatre so going on 2 days is not an inconvenience really for me.

My friend went and looooved it.

I haven’t been as am huge HP series fan but read the script and wasn’t a fan of the cursed child plot.

The seats at the back are still fine! It's definitely worth it if you're a HP fan. You can either choose a weekend and do both acts on the same day - there's a few hours gap between them so you can go into Covent Garden / Leicester Square to eat and then go back for the second act. Or you can choose to do it on two separate days. We did it pre children so enjoyed a whole day out, it was fantastic

Adult daughter and I went just before Covid. We loved it, both shows in a day. Our hot tip, at that point, as you'd expect, lots of the international groups were cancelling/not travelling. So we got our tickets massively reduced on lastminute dot com. Can be worth seeing what is available there first. We were mid stalls, which was great. Yes a long day but we came out very buoyant and glad we'd done it - especially as it was then our last time out before Lockdown.

Another tip is round the corner is the House of Minalina which is worth a visit in the break

I disagree with people saying the cheapest seats were fine - the plot isn't great, and the acting fine but nothing amazing - the main thing that differentiates it fro other plays are the special effects and the effect of those is hugely reduced up in the gods, plus it really isn't comfortable to be staring down from that position for 6 hours!

I definitely don't think you need to be front stage but wouldn't go again unless I could get at least middling seats.

It's the sort of thing most people will only do once, so it's worth it to pay more to get a good experience rather than a mediocre one, in my view.

Agree with the house of minalina tip!

Thanks all! My sons are going to research it and see if they fancy taking Granda 😊

We saw it last year, sat at the front of the balcony and the view was really good with only the rail in the way. There are some bits which would be better in the stalls but we still really enjoyed it and the price is a bargain really.

I know this is an old thread but I wondered if anyone could let me know if my Harry Pitter mad eight year old is too young to watch the Cursed Child. He would LOVE to go but on the website it advises 10+. Thanks very much!

bruffin · 06/02/2025 08:07

@JennyDreadful I have been to see it again recently (won the friday lottery)
It is still as good as when I saw it the first time. However they no longer do the two parts over 2 days , so it is a very long day for an 8 year old, obviously depending on your 8 year old

JennyDreadful · 06/02/2025 08:42

That's really helpful thank you. I think he would struggle to do it all in one day, much as he would love the treat of being out late!

bruffin · 06/02/2025 17:38

@JennyDreadful
Have you taken him to the Warner Bros Harry Potter studios yet. If he is a fan he will love that.

JennyDreadful · 07/02/2025 16:28

Yes and he loved it! (So did I) now he would really like to go to Universal Studios too which is supposed to be amazing for its HP experience, but it's a bit above my price bracket!
