Living above shops , anti social behaviour

I live above some shops and I'm so fed up of the disgusting behaviour of the young kids and loud cars .

I've seen them urinating up the walls down by the shops smoking , shouting general gathering and asking people to buy vapes and alcohol , I have told them multiple times not to hang around very politely and they were polite back to me and said they wouldn't but they continue to do it and I can't Stand the urinating it's disgusting.

Also i get alot of loud modified cars driving down the road at speed for like 2 seconds and cars of 18 year old and even grown adults with their music blaring.

Where I live isn't a bad area either but there are alot of houses in the immediate area because of the schools in the area .
I've spoken to my older neighbours and they are scared to come out .

I'm not old either so I put up with it a bit better but I have young kids and they get woken up alot with the noise outside (I also can't leave my window open because the noise is really loud and echoes

What can I do ? , moving isn't an option as rent is ridiculous In the area and nothing is available 😑.

There’s a disinfectant that stinks, can’t remember the name, hopefully someone else will. You squirt it around where they gather and it puts them off.

You could also ask the shop owners about one of those high pitched noises that only young people can hear, it encourages them to move on.

Wouldn't that also affect the OP's children though, if they can hear the noise through the window presumably they would also hear the mosquito device?

Yeah , around the shop there are alot of houses with children and it would effect them as well as mine , my hearing is really good and I can also hear those devices.

I doubt the shop will do anything as these kids bring them alot of business in the mornings .

Could I make a complaint to the council ? 🤔

Anti social behaviour can be reported to the police. Also worth mentioning that they are making some residents feel vulnerable and scared to go out. Call 101 and make a report.

Which is precisely the last thing shop owners want.

Shop owners don’t want them hanging round intimidating their customers.

Report it to police and local council. This is anti-social behaviour and you don't have to tolerate it

If it is a chain convenience store I would certainly badger their customer services/head office/area manager to ask what is being done about this, if not the council.

You have my full sympathy OP, it sounds very stressful and antisocial noise really takes a toll. I don't expect there is a great deal you can directly do in real terms so perhaps turn the focus to the best you can do to mitigate the noise in the home- thick curtains, acclimating to wearing headphones or white noise playing in bedrooms at night etc. It might take the edge off, albeit I know is not much help it did work for me when we've had noise pollution in past properties. I ended up sleeping with one of those soft headband earphones on and played white noise on it.
