A better cheaper alternative to Centre Parcs

We went to Centre Parcs off season / out of term time and it was say it was fine (it didn't cost more than an air B and B although obviously we spent quite a bit whilst there).

My DC would love to go back but now they are at school it is (I reluctantly checked) three times more expensive and absolutely not worth it just for the pool - which is the bit my DC loved. And we were not enamoured with the rest of it tbh.

Where else is a good pool with slides / holiday vibes?

The honest answer OP is there isn’t anywhere in the UK that has as good pools as CP. Simple fact.
We have teens now but been to many many places in the UK as mine love the CP pools and thrill slides.
There are places that have flumes. There are places that have rapids. But none have flumes, rapids, large lagoon pools, decent bars and resturants round, lovely outdoor pool, large changing facilities and have it all really clean with only a short walk / cycle back to your accommodation.
All other places, the pool seems a bit naff / small / tame in comparison or if a flumes place (like splashdown in pools for example) it doesn’t have the lovely big lagoon swimming pools indoors / out doors.
CP opens right into the evening and it’s all lit up. Stay as long as you like (they don’t check time slots)

We are also big fans of CP in Holland. Also been to one in Belgium and one in Germany, but the Dutch ones are my favourites. Easy for us from Harwich to Hook of Holland so I appreciate that's not the same for everyone. Yes the accommodation is a bit more dated than the UK but that's part of why the UK charge such eye watering prices now (I think).

Sun parks and Center parcs Europe are cheaper. We went on these holidays when I was younger and loved it.
Since my child is starting school this will be the plan going forward rather than paying term time prices

Duinrell is fantastic. Our kids loved it and there is a lovely town a few mins walk from the park so you don't feel trapped. Also lots of interesting places to visit by car if you want to get out and about and also an easy train ride to Amsterdam.

We booked through Eurocamp and stayed on the quiet section called the Eiland. We took a ferry with a day cabin from Harwich the park is a 45 min drive from the ferry port. So easy and we've done it twice now as the kids enjoyed it so much.
