Tattoos - does colour feel different that black outline?

Evening all.
I'm getting my Phoenix coloured in next month. I have not had colour before. Does it hurt more than black outline?

I'm
Probably maybe going to use a numbing cream. Depending on your answers. It's on my thigh, top of thigh by my hip almost to the back of my knee.

Crack on with the numbing cream or does it hurt less? Or more in your experience?

Thank you.

The colour didn't hurt half as much as the outline for me. You've done the worst bit!

Where was your tattoo on your body if you don't mind me asking

I actually put the cream on (my husband applied it) half in the right area half in the wrong area so half was fine and the other half hurt in certain parts.

It's so addictive to me I'm already planning my next one after this one is finished.

The colour bit hurts way less than the outline. It’s because it’s a wider array of needles.
I need to get mine finished too.

Colour hurts less. I’m covered in tattoos but the easiest place I’ve had done was the front of my thigh…it barely hurt.

This is on the side of my thigh, up my hip and down the side of my thigh to my knee almost.

I can't wait to get it finished. He said two, two hour sessions.

I didn’t find it any different to the outline personally. The only difference I noticed at all was the tattoo hurting a bit more going over bonier parts compared to fleshier parts.
