Im throwing my first party for my dd on Saturday she's turning 5. In a soft play at a leisure centre. Doing picnic boxes does this sound ok for the contents?
3 half sandwiches- 1 tuna, 1 cheese, 1 jam
a babybel
a satsuma
a frube
mini cheddars
organix flapjack bites
Is that too much dairy? (No one has an allergy). Anything else I should throw in?

thank you wise mumsnet

That sounds great.
At a recent party all ham and jam were eaten and loads of cheese left.
They did satsuma or banana but had some extras to swap and lots did.

My son is a fussy bugger and will not eat a sandwich for love nor money. The only thing he'd eat from your list is mini cheddars and the frube.

Could you do trays of food rather than picnic boxes so they can choose what they'll eat, rather than bits go to waste in their boxes if they don't like it?

I reckon you could make it cheaper for yourself and cut out things like Organix Flapjacks that may not go down well with those who have issues with textures and swap for something like the individual bags of cookies you can pick up 6 for £1 in Asda. Actual yogurts and some plastic spoons (frubes are tiny).

It is a party, after all.

Was about to say the same.
