The women of Iran are fighting for their rights, they are risking their lives to fight back. The Iranian government is preventing them sharing this with the world but we know these things are happening and we should definitely be talking about it.

Western media is not allowed in Iran.
It's better to listen to Iranians.
BTW I know the British Government and their plans to make deals with the regime for Iran oil and gas are now being derailed.
Who wins in this situation?

There's a freedom rally for Iran in Halifax at 2.00pm on Saturday, at the woolshops, for anyone in West Yorkshire.

The protests in Iran are getting a lot of coverage, no doubt with a lot of encouragement from the Foreign Office as the Iranian regime are supplying Russia with kamikaze drones and missiles for use in Ukraine. I'm not sure how much coverage it would be getting beyond Channel 4 if that wasn't the case.

It's struggling to get traction as an issue with the UK public, possibly because there's a lot going on in the news at the moment and the public is fatigued/overwhelmed by it all. Sad to say, but the majority of the UK public don't really care about foreign current affairs. Even less than they care about UK current affairs.

I don’t think we need to be quite that cynical. The protests are being covered, unsurprisingly, by Al Jazeera. It seems they are becoming, or have become, an expression of wider disaffection with the Iranian leadership. There are links to Kurdistan and trade unions too. Enough is going on the the leadership is complaining loudly of western involvement.

I went to the womens' march in London when that odious Trump was elected. Sad to say, none of the women I went with have even acknowledged these protests against Gender Apartheid and brutality in Iran. Just like they didn't bother with the Black Lives Matter movement.
It is very very disappointing.
Where is the sisterhood and solidarity with fellow human beings.

So do you not think it’s worth talking about?

Gorillas are wonderful .
In Iran they are shooting girls in the face or the genitals.
We prioritise the girls and women. That is all there is to say.

They keep on coming, the girls and women, full of courage and defiance and despair. It's despair that drives them. The thought.of a future shaped by the Taliban.- they would rather be dead.
