Not strong, just fresh, clean and subtle.

Have you found this at all, can you recommend?

Thanks x

L’air du temps

Chanel No5 was my first thought.
I like it because it always reminds me of talc.

Maybe she likes the smell of it? I do
Some days I want to smell like lemon cake or soap or bonfires or caramel, it's not that deep

savings baby powder smell is AMAZING and mild. I get headaches from very strong smells.

Main reason is I’m perimeno and have frequent hot flushes, I’m completely paranoid about smelling bad because of it. So between being able to shower (100 times a day) and putting clean fresh clothes on,, the background powdery smell would just make me feel a little less…. Well… awful.

We’re you asking because you think I’ve got some weird reason?

This perfume was invented for babies Hmm but it's a nice, clean scent for grownups.

Chardonnay73 · 06/10/2022 21:43

I always think the original JPG smells of baby powder…

Cashmere by Donna Karen

Lol no but it is unusual for an adult to want to smell like a baby?!

The fresh, clean smell I get, but baby powder is a specific scent associated with babies or the very elderly!

Oh, give over. It's a pleasant fragrance, that's all. If the OP really wanted to smell 'like a baby' she'd be asking for perfumes that smell like porridge and shitty nappies.

Oh give over, @SavingsThreads OP said she wanted to smell "fresh clean and subtle" not that she had a baby fetish.
I like those smells too. Perfume is generally awful on me, so I like nice soaps and powders. I can also relate to the perimenopausal sweatiness.

When I have time to slabber my whole self with Nivea lotion or baby lotion thats when I smell best! I also like lemony smells and use lemon essential oil as perfume in the summer.

Ha ha, where can I purchase such a scent 😀

Benjispruce4 · 07/10/2022 16:46

I think there is a Dove (soap)perfume.

Hey OP, I have a friend that uses prada infusion d'iris, I’ve always found it lovely clean and fresh, though a friend of hers once asked her (rudely imho) why the hell she “smelled like soap and talc?!”.

I’d recommend going to a shop like John Lewis or Boots (Debenhams in the past, RIP) and trying some out though. Going from some comments here I’m really surprised by suggestions like no.5 (which I love, but it’s strong and not at all soapy on me), l’air du temps (another really strong one my mam used to use it and I have find memories of it) and anything Versace which I just find mystifyingly tacky and cloying (a bit like the Diesel scent that was popular when I was young, uch)!

It may well be that those smell soapy and light and clean on others though, just not anyone I’m aware of irl.
Give it a go but you might find it cloying. My friend used to use the men’s version originally which is also nice. Trying out the mens can sometimes be a good shout, some are ghastly but others surprisingly fresh, less garish florals than womens in my (limited) experience.

I love the smell of Imperial Leather too. Isn’t it sandalwood?
