If a 67 year old was living in a family members house (she's in care home) who doesnt work but gets pension does he pay full council tax or can he claim any benefits?

If he is officially single occupant he will get single person discount and depending on income may get benefit. There's a lot of variables. Better off using a calculator like entitled to or the local council website will have info.

Thanks @Baker90 will have a look , income is literally state benefit.

Single person discount and probably pension credit if he only has srp. Likely to qualify for council tax support/reduction if he’s liable for council tax. If he has savings over £16k won’t qualify.

I am 67, live on my own and my income is more or less state pension, so very low.
I get single person discount plus a further discount based on my income. There is a simple online form (in my area) to complete that, when fully completed, triggers any applicable discount.
