Where are all the courgettes?

Has anyone noticed that there is a distinct lack of courgettes at the moment?

Grow my own, got plenty.

Went to an Italian restaurant at the weekend and pigged out on those crispy matchstick thin courgettes fried in batter, sooo not soggy.

I couldn't get the bog standard ones on a Waitrose delivery at the weekend. End up with the Duchy ones subbed instead. That was quite odd as never usually have trouble getting any.

I haven’t seen any the past few days, I find it curious because they are in season and grown here. I can understand a shortage of something expensive to import pineapples for example

Loads of them in my local greengrocer today.

I have just tried to order them from Tesco. When I searched 'courgette' it didn't even come up with anything at all, just a message saying nothing matched my search!

We've had courgettes coming out of our ears for weeks now. Plus Runner Beans. I'm sick of them!!

I was only saying this to a friend last week, normally I have friends leaving bags of the buggers on the doorstep. None this year (SW).

Haven’t been able to get courgettes or bramley apples last 3 weeks in sainsburys . Go to the farm shop and they have loads of both they are in season Im confused

This happened to us a couple weeks ago with our Tesco order too. And no herbs at all that point either. I still can’t find fresh thyme in any of the four or five grocery stores I normally visit.

None in my supermarkets in Leeds. I wondered why too!

Aldi near us haven’t had any for ages but Sainsburys still do!

The ones over grown did really poorly this year, I think our worst year ever, we got 2 and I’m normally drowning in them

Same. just nipped out to get some no joy. I love them! like them grated to add to pasta to lower carb content. Shame.

None here for weeks (midlands) but finally found one yesterday in Lidl

Well if you were my neighbour OP you could have the 16 I have and can’t find a home for. My neighbours are politely declining now after me donating them all summer. Never again will I plant 6 courgette plants - I think I’ve easily had 80 bloody courgettes.

Go and stand outside a supermarket and charge for them!

That or you've killed them all...

Chap on my local veg stall (London) said they were costing him £1 each wholesale so he wasn’t stocking them.

If anyone lives in Southampton and craves courgette I have 3 beasts I am happy to give away . Sick of the bloody things 😒
