Kids Party 10am - What Food?

We are having DD’s party at 10am. She’s turning 8, on 10 kids invited. What food would you serve?

They will probably eat around 11.

Pancakes and waffles

idonotmind · 03/10/2022 16:28

Hmm, depend so the activity? Is it at your house?

Could do croissants, milk, juice, etc. Mini muffins. Like a continental breakfast

AriettyHomily · 03/10/2022 16:32

is it in your house? Waffles and pancakes.

Dinoteeth · 03/10/2022 16:44

Pizza, think of it as early lunch.

Thesearmsofmine · 03/10/2022 16:46

Pancakes and waffles with a pick your own toppings bar.

Bigbadfish · 03/10/2022 16:49

I wouldn't over complicate it. Kids will eat beige and sugar at any time of day.

MiddleClassProblem · 03/10/2022 18:04

Lol this is true. I was caught between brunch and just regular party food maybe without the sandwiches.

It’s in a community hall so if pancakes and waffles we would be doing them cold.

I'd do sandwiches, cold things like cocktail sausages, crisps, cupcakes. Just (an early) lunch.

Glitterspy · 03/10/2022 18:09

Just a normal party lunch, they’ll eat it.

AllThatHoopla · 03/10/2022 18:12

I used to have garlic bread and sausage rolls instead of sandwiches.

purplecorkheart · 03/10/2022 18:21

Are you bring food or getting it delivered?

Kite22 · 03/10/2022 18:22

Just normal party food. They won't worry about being an hour early.

CollyWibbleWobbles · 03/10/2022 18:31

Warm Pain au chocolate , chocolate crepes , waffles , fruit salad , cocktail sausages, egg muffins , cheese scones fruit juice and milkshakes

MiddleClassProblem · 03/10/2022 18:36

Open to either. I think it’s a bit early to have pizza though which was a consideration when it was possibly going to be later.

There is a local bakery though so maybe I could speak to them for pastries and small treats.

I think a brunch is super cute but I’m just not sure the kids will get it lol.

It's only an hour early 11.00 vs 12.00. And kids won't care.

Other options would be breakfast rolls but that's harder to do unless you have a proper catering griddle / kitchen.

Don't make life more complicated than it needs too be.

MiddleClassProblem · 03/10/2022 19:30

Yes, thank you @Dinoteeth. I will definitely keep this mantra close!

I would serve lunch as if it were 12pm or 1pm
