Best student cookbook - personal experience?

DS is year 12, DD is year 10. I'm thinking I need to prepare them for uni by helping them cook better. I had an idea that getting a decent student cookbook would be a good starting point and we could work through some of the recipes in the next year or so.

Any recommendations? I'm looking for decent simple student friendly meals.

Obviously I know other cookbooks are available but I like the idea of giving them a good student one. I think it would catch their interest.

The Bosh! Cookbooks are excellent for students. DD has the veggie one and it has some really tasty recipes and signposts you to other recipes to use any leftover ingredients so no waste. You can also scan a QR code in the book to get other ideas etc. Highly recommend it!

I like nosh for busy mum's and dads so I reckon their student one will be worth a look.

My year 12 ds is working his way through Nosh for Students at the moment, cooking dinner for us all once a week but is also using it to cook for his girlfriend and friends. It seems very easy to follow and has useful information about reheating, best before dates etc

This one is great full of cheap and easy recipes, some healthy, some junk food, smoothies, some cocktails, 5 minute food prep etc. I used it as a student and need to buy a new copy it was excellent.

I've put copies of Jamie's 30 minute meals and Nigella's Kitchen away for dd to take to uni. We use both regularly at home, most recipes are easy to make smaller and she's familiar with them, I know she'll eat well!

Lindsey Bareham’s A Wolf in the Kitchen. Foolproof recipes, easy to follow, covers loads of classics and you don’t need tonnes of kit to do them either - perfect for students.

There was one by a Sam Something. Bit gimmicky and urgent-sounding in the copy but the recipes were pretty good. 'Cooking Up A Storm' I think it is.

I think Nosh for Students is probably one of the best for someone first starting to cook.

Once they understand terms and have a bit of experience under their belts, then they tend to just google recipes.

Mine all had their own cookery books from when they were about 12, so could copy things they particularly liked into it.

Sam Stern is his name. My boys quite liked this one.

Thank you!

I found 3 of these on eBay with the same seller so got a discount - all 3 for £8. Will see how we get on with those.

The ones I found were Sam Stern, the wolf one and Nosh for students.
