Nope!

I'm watching more stuff on the tablet and saving the humongous TV for special films and snooker. It does make a difference.

No.. TV hardly uses any electricity and what would you do instead, something else using electricity?

snowspider · 03/10/2022 09:44

Yes, and turning it off stand by. I think modern tvs are far less power hungry but I have a 42 inch plasma tv from 2006 and it is mega expensive to run (but has a really nice rich picture quality). I used to have it on in the background if I was in the room in the day but now it is only on after 8 in the evening.

On average TVs cost around £30 a year. It's a very cheap form of entertainment.

No. TVs are cheap. Certainly cheaper than going out!

keeping the thermostat low for heating though and limiting shower length.

Looked into it, but it's one of the cheapest appliances in the house. Its the heating that we're trying not to use until absolutely desperate.
