Dust mite allergy "stuff" eg duvet protectors? But not dangerous chemicals

My poor dd apparently has. Dust mite allergy. So I'm entering the world of pillow protectors but I'm worried about the chemical they use in this type of stuff or are they ok?

Any ideas on what else we can do?
Obviously cleaning her room a lot. We have floors boards.

Anti allergy or anti dust mite bedding uses a tighter weave of fabric to discourage anything getting into the duvet/pillows. I'm not aware of having seen anything that uses chemicals to achieve that.

I would invest in a high efficiency vacuum cleaner and very regularly vacuum, not forgetting the mattress, any soft furnishing (cushions, upholstery, any heavy curtains). Switch to anti dust mite pillows and duvet, consider the age of the mattress and give this a proper clean if it isn't being replaced. Wash all bedding on a high heat when you do so.

You also need to be mindful of other areas of the home such as the lounge where there any sort furnishings (sofa, cushions, throws, carpet, rugs, soft toys). Unfortuately the best way to avoid dust mite irritation is to clean an awful lot.

Not sure of your DD's age but prescription antihistamines can be very helpful, particularly if she is having rashes or eyes or nose are irritated.

@dontgobaconmyheart

Thank you!

She doesn't get rashes but seems to get breathing issues
