Help me to try and host my ILs for a meal some how?

Back story
MIL is coeliac and thus absolutely has to have GF food - which makes going out for a quick and easy pub hard.

SIL has two DC with SN who get car sick and so can't travel very far in the car.
I suspect SIL would not feel relaxed going somewhere like a pub because not sure that the DC may not have a meltdown - places they know are better.

We never host because we live 100 miles away and it's a long way to come just for lunch.

But I always feel like we are doing things on THEIR terms.

And we can't host as we don't have nearly enough room for everyone (there are 17 of us in total)

If they lived nearer I'd have them all over to have some kind of relaxed and inexpensive chilli. But I can't work out how we can do things in an easier way.

Do you mean you want them to come to you?

Or that you want to go to them and somehow host?
All of their 'terms' sound entirely reasonable.

You could host them by booking a private room in a nice restaurant with a chef who understands celiac?
Or cook in one of their kitchens?

Yes my other issues is that I don't have the money for a private chef ... it's a tricky one.
Thanks so much

So when you say host do you mean at your house or to find a location part way between you both. Or a location / venue by you?

We sometimes stay in a holiday cottage for a few days to spend time with my folks who have similar requirements.

How often you see ILs and where?

Suspect MIL is making a bit of a drama out of being GF. Pretty much all pubs and restaurants have GF options these days.

I'd echo this as a coeliac.
There are almost no places now where I can't find something I can have.

Mil is gluten and dairy intolerant and extremely dramatic about it and she can always find something (eventually)

I think if I'm understanding correctly the issue with eating out is less mil but rather the children who sil is nervous won't manage in an unfamiliar setting? Is that right?

If you want to host then do it. You don’t have to have them all at the same time.
