Slimfast or liquid diet ok while breastfeeding?

I’m desperate. I’m about 15kg heavier than before dd2 was born. I’ve been eating healthy (in a deficit) as well as walking between 10-15000 steps a day. I have no lost even one oz, no joke. It’s been months. I seem to be just clinging on to this extra weight. Apart from the initial drop after birth I haven’t lost anything else. It’s depressing me, I hate looking in the mirror and live in the same ratty pair of leggings. No time to go to the gym as my husband either works abroad or is out very late and both girls are very early risers and he won’t get out of bed so I can go in the morning. All those people who claim breastfeeding makes you lose weight 🥲🥲 when I say no matter what I eat/do my weight doesn’t move! DD has just started solids (she’s 6 months now) so a small dip in my supply won’t cause any damage, in any case I have a massive over supply issue anyway.

please any advice!

I really don’t think that’s a wise idea, you need as much nutrition as possible and liquid diets are v low calorie and very difficult to get all your nutritional needs from. Since you are breastfeeding it could impact your own health.

I wouldn't either. Try to up your fibre intake so you're fuller for longer. 6 months is still a young baby. Give yourself a break x

Slim fast is an appetite suppressant. You would probably pass a small amount to your baby and that doesn’t seem like a good idea.

The breast feeding weight loss statement is a myth! If you were BF and on a VLCD then yes it would but remember, the body stores fat during pregnancy and breastfeeding as a survival measure so that the baby will always have milk. If someone stops BF or formula feeds, they will notice a drop in their body fat % fairly quickly (if measuring it but also visibly). Could you try home work outs? There are many apps available and I've tried a few but the one I used most over lockdown was the sweat app. There are different trainers including post partum programmes which incorporate weights (good for burning calories) and HIIT. You could maybe start once your DC are asleep. From memory, the work outs are between 35 - 45 minutes so not very long.

@Vinyasa474 i just downloaded that app! I used it as well so hopefully I can get back into a routine. It’s so hard, I feel like a totally different version of myself! Absolutely miserable, I go days without brushing my hair and can’t remember the last time I made an effort ☹️

It's all a process. You just need to start and then be kind to yourself. Good luck!
