Does anyone know where I can get straight legs sports trousers without net lining?

DS is autistic and really hates that strange net lining that older boys sports trousers seems to have (what is it for??). He also really hates elasticated ankle cuffs and anything tight

So I need some straight/wide legged trousers with an elasticated waist and no netty lining.

Any ideas? I've trawled round sports shops with no joy.

TIA

Maybe if you find roughly what you're looking for, you can adapt the rest. I'd cut out the netting. If there's elastic around the ankles, I'd find a seamstress or shop that does alterations to cut them off and hem the leg (just get a pair a bit longer for extra length)

What about yoga trousers? That seems to be similar to what you’re describing.

I cut the net part out of my sons swim shorts as he has the same issue, can you try that if you can find a pair where everything else is ok?

Why didn't it occur to me to cut out the netting? Doh!

Thanks all. Will also have a look at yoga pants

My boy has some from h&m. Lightweight with no netting. I think they were sold as wind proof sports trousers.

How about the sort of tracksuit that has cotton lining?
Eg Canterbury tracksuits are straight leg and cotton lined (very expensive though, but unbranded knock offs must exist?)

I think they might be a bit too clingy. He doesn't like cotton jersey very much. Getting hairy legs hasn't helped! He's very enthusiastic about the cutting out the netting idea so I shall get my sewing scissors out tomorrow

Both DS"s just have normal jogging bottoms from Nike, Adidas etc and I have never encountered any net in them. They are straight legged and no elasticated cuffs. I might be missing something obvious though.

What, they don't have the circled bits at the bottom in this photo?

No they just sort of stop. Like these.

Oh those kind of things (I wish there were clearer definitions! Grin)

Thanks but he won't wear those, they're too narrow and clingy around the legs.

Try the classic Ronhill Tracksters.

They have stirrups to hold them down, but you could cut them off if he doesn't like them.
