Safe heater for kids’ room

DC are 6 and 4, share a room.

It gets cold in the night and it wakes up DS (with obvious consequences for my sleep!).

Last winter, I set the timer for the heating to come on for an hour in the middle of the night. But this year it seems wasteful to heat the whole house.

So I was thinking of a heater just for their room and then I started wondering if it’s safe?

Does anyone have any thoughts or models they’d recommend?

Could you try electric blankets instead? Cheaper to run too.

I have a small plug in radiator in my dcs room for nights that aren't so cold we need the heating on but I just want their rooms to be a little warmer.

Rointe wall mounted. You can control it with an app and cover it so no one is able to touch it and burn themselves.

Get an oil-filled radiator which you can put on a timer. I'd be wary of any other type of heater in a room with children.

I'd recommend delonghi 2kw oil filled radiator which you can buy from Argos £110. We bought one for our DD's room last winter and one for ours and they worked really well. We left them on a low setting and it cuts off when they reach the required temperature. Also they are safe in terms of not being a fire hazard, as they are just freestanding electric heaters.

how cold?

if above 10 degrees at night in the room I would go with fleece pj, extra blanket & hot water bottle.
