Any current John Lewis credit card holders been declined by new provider?

Just trying to work out what's going on.....the new credit provider for the John Lewis credit card has declined me for a new card because I don't meet their eligibility criteria - despite paying my bill in full each month and having a healthy credit rating. I've given up trying to contact them to find out why as I can never get through to anyone. I'm just wondering if anyone else has also been declined, especially if you pay your bill in full each month.

I got approved straightaway. Pay off in full every month. Had a 15k limit with old John Lewis card, 7k limit on new one.

then I did more research and found Amex has a much better return, so I have one of these now

We're 50:50 here. DH is still waiting for his to appear - he thinks it's got lost (so the post up thread was useful - if a bit too late!) He's got a lower limit. My card's sitting in front of me and has twice the limit of my old one.

I haven't used it yet.
I can't get to talk to a human - it's all app this, app that.
I want to pay some of it off via standing order, but they only offer Direct Debits. I don't want one as I pay house items from one account and personal items from my own and this varies.
I can't phone them to ask about the settings to just use a SO or BACS as no number.
DH also doesn't have a phone capable of running the app.

My own bank can't find out any details either - so I can't set up any payments from that side either, even knowing it was a JLP card!

Pretty useless. I filled out an application for my own bank's card while I was waiting for the nice chap to find out if they had any New Day info...

JL are going to get so much flak here. If customers are forced into 'computer says no' app land just to do basics, they'll leave. We'll be amongst them.

Paid off in full every month and approved immediately. Spend about £3 - 4k per month. Granted same credit limit as before.
