Home learning while absent from school

Hiya my son who is in year one was off school this week on Monday and Tuesday as he was vomiting on Sunday Eve/early hours of Monday, this then went round my other children and husband. I sent him in on Wednesday as was more than 48 hours and he seemed fine. This morning he had a very upset stomach. School sent an email this week to all the families saying lots going around at the moment and to strictly observe the 48 hour rule. So he's off today and will be off tomorrow, so missing 4 out of 5 days this week. He's absolutely fine in himself running around the house and standing on his head. He's currently crawling around the floor with my baby. Should I ask school for some home learning or should I just let him rest/do what he wants even though he's fine. He's the sort that will get very negative about school if he starts to fall behind the others. Should I not worry and hope he will be healthy and not need much time off after this?

He's what 6? He really isn't going to be left behind by a week off school.

Stick him on an educational games website and consider it job done

He’s only 5 or 6. Read with him as you usually would and let him play.

No. Leave him be. Read to / with him as you usually would.

Ok thanks for the opinions. I'll leave him alone and not stress 🙂

Doing his reading book isn't the be all and end all of reading though. Share books together, get him to point out words he can read, tell you what he thinks is going to happen next etc. Enjoying non-school books is so important.
