Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome - Help

I have a son who I’m pretty sure has CVS. All the classic symptoms. Wakes up in the morning with a very bad headache, pale. Then starts vomiting 5 times an hour for around 8-12 hours. In between vomiting has to lay down, can’t move or speak hardly.
Cant hold down even a sip of water.
It clears after the 8-12 hours and they are fine again. Eating and up and around like it never happened. Next day totally normal.
This goes on around 2-3 times a year. It pretty much always happens if there is something exciting happening that day. For example a birthday, exciting day out. It’s a massive pain as it means so much disappointment for my son and whole family as so many things have had to be cancelled. It’s just really horrible for him.

My problem is we have a big family holiday next year abroad. Been waiting years to go during covid. I just really don’t know what to do if one of these attacks happens on the day we fly due to the excitement. Can’t really hide it closer to the time as son is teen age and will know if suitcases are being packed and every thing is getting ready. They are not silly, plus will want to pack their own things.
But no way could we fly if one of these attacks comes on and then what? Loose £1000’s and not go? I just really don’t know what to do.
Havent been to the doctor yet but really don’t see what they would be able to do or give her that would be of much help?
Anyone with any advice or experience?

I had CVS in my late teens and early twenties until it became classical migraines (still vomiting, but not the way I did with CVS). For me, the triggers were the same really - too much sugar, not enough salt and complex carbs, not enough water/ dehydration, and not enough sleep. I also found/find good posture and having my neck corrected really important - pressure around my neck will cause a migraine
So for sure, go to the doctors and talk about a migraine preventative medicine, a prescription for buccastem, and think about a 'non vom' programme
