What does your cleaner do in 2hrs a week?

I'm trying to decide whether a cleaner would be worth it for me. I WFH, single parent to teens and the place always looks a bit unkempt. Every morning before I start work I empty dishwasher, reload it, make bed, give the bathroom and kitchen a wipedown, and maybe every other day vacuum. When time and energy permits I'll do a scrub up in the bathrooms, wash the hardfloors (I have a bissell crosswave, which helps), change the bed (teens change their own regularly), wipe down the mirrors, dust, empty bins (I vaguely follow flylady). I'm wondering if a cleaner is necessary because I am fortunate to work from home to my own schedule and I wonder if my place could ever look sparkling because I find it hard to imagine it ever could so should I just carry on as I am doing?

Our cleaner does a two hour clean each week and generally always does the main house bathroom, the kitchen, and hall and stairs. This includes washing all floors and vacuuming where there are carpets. She then also normally has time for something else, so depending on what we have got going on, she might clean our en-suite, or vacuum the downstairs rooms, or maybe properly clean the front room.
It makes a big difference as I know that at least once a week the heavy traffic areas will get a decent clean.

3 bed house, two adults.

  • Vacumn entire house
  • clean bathroom
  • mop kitchen floor
  • dust everywhere
  • clean kitchen surfaces
  • does any washing up (we don’t leave stuff but sometimes they’ll be a cup or bowl)
  • cleans mirrors and glass panes in doors
  • cleans fronts of cupboards in the kitchen

Yes, same.
We have a clean once every 2 weeks & it just keeps us on top of big things.

Although, I still pretty much do all the things on your list too OP. Maybe not mopping & mirrors.

A really deep clean of one room/area. Whichever room needs it at the time. This means we just have to keep on top of the light, day-to-day stuff. We don't have to do the tasks that are harder work.

We have a cleaner for 2 hours a week and she does the following:

  • vacuums all carpets
  • mops all hard floors
  • cleans bathroom
  • dusts all surfaces
  • changes bedding and puts the sheets on to wash

Aware that some cleaners won't do the last one!

I used to be a cleaner. Generally I didn't do dishes but I would check, or see if I had time at the end (which yours did). I had no problem being paid to wash up, but we're generally brought in for the bigger stuff that needs doing!
