What should I do in London tomorrow?

I have a day off work and want to do something nice.

I live quite centrally so can go pretty much anywhere all over the city.

I like walking, exploring, London history. Could be tempted by a museum or gallery or exhibition if there's something good on.

What would you do if you were me? I need inspiration!

There are lots of tix available for the men's fashion exhib at the V&A, they have good coffee and cake and a nice shop there and lots of other lovely things to look at.
I adore the jewellery gallery myself.

London Docklands museum. It's free and very interesting and I think often completely overlooked that its there!

Bow street nick is now a museum and very interesting. And I personally love the London silver vaults.

I also rate going to the Tate Britain for a stroll around and then taking the boat down to the Modern, familiar London looks so different, and lovely, from the river. Lots to do and see along the South Bank or walk over the Millennium Bridge into the City.

I love London so much!

Boat to Greenwich, potter around the free naval museum and the observatory.

I love central London. I would just wander round or do a walking tour. Just soak in the atmosphere.

FinanceLPlates · 25/09/2022 16:15

If you’d like to venture a bit further out of central London, try the www.horniman.ac.uk/ Horniman Museum in Forest Hill. Lovely gardens and views over London too.

I had a spare day in London last week and did Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery, mooched around Covent Garden and had lunch in St James Park. I do love Tate Britain but have already been twice this year!

The time before that I went to the Tower Bridge Experience and Churchill's War Rooms and had lunch at Borough Market.

WarmSausageTea · 25/09/2022 17:42

Mooch around the city, past St Paul’s, the
Monument, Leadenhall market, tower bridge, on to St Katherine Docks and the Thames path to Wapping for a sit down and a bite to eat, and then the overground from Wapping to either Forest Hill for the Horniman, or Crystal Palace for the park and dinosaurs.

Walk along Regent's Canal from Kings Cross to Victoria Park in East London - the weather's meant to be great and the autumn colours should be lovely. There's probably a podcast about it/guided walk and there are fab cafes along the route and Victoria Park, next to the lake.

intervalfiller · 25/09/2022 18:52

Walk a stretch of the Thames Path.
