Has anyone ever had a group of friends like on TV?

Was watching friends earlier and spoke to DH about this. Has anyone ever had a group of friends actually like this? Like in and out of each other’s houses, know everything about each other, casually hang out all the time etc? I personally never have but always watch it whilst wistfully thinking how nice it looks.

does it actually exist or is it just TV? I know it’s probably harder in this day and age with the existence of social media and people working so much.

For a short few years. We were three couples, two of us were ex colleagues. Two others did a project together later. We watched tv together, we had dinner together weakly. Any if us six would easily meat up with another of the group. We clubbed together. We did sports together. Well, not all six of us at tge same time but just whoever had time at the suggested date/time. It was a lot of fun.

It started to crumble when the first couple broke up. All couples are separated now.

We did for a number of years as we all lived together during student/early jobs. We all live miles apart but get together once a year for a trip away. We book a holiday house for a weekend and have a lovely time catching up.

Apart from this I'm very antisocial now as I'm so busy and knackered!

Kind of. Definitely no just popping into each other’s houses, but we have a group of about 12 of us that regularly meet up interchangeably (so rarely all 12 but often someone will suggest something in the group chat and someone else will be available.

it’s a mixture of siblings, friends from school, former housemates, couples. We all live in the same area and often do house parties, bbqs, pub quizzes, Friday nights in the pub and went on a group holiday this year. However, none of us have kids yet which I suspect might change things…

Yes in my 20s when I lived in a house share in London. About 8 of us very close, lived in three houses, met up all the time, Sunday breakfasts, drinks after work, holidays, two ended up getting married! Good times indeed.

I do but we are not as close as the people from 'friends'. It started when my girl mate met and married a guy and the friend groups merged so we have 3 main girls and a new gf on the scene and 5 guys. Most of the time it's 4 guys as one is drifting off a bit now he is in love but he is still part of the gang. We go on holiday together, have nights in and nights out. Have group chats with everyone. We say we are like the people from friends 🤣 it's actually lovely.

We all just turn up at the main couples house all the time it's an open house.
