Probably had 3/4 to a bottle of red. Parents staying. Interview tomorrow. Think maybe I spoke about stuff I wouldn't normally talk about, but my memory is a bit sketchy, so I am panicking about what I said or how I acted. I have styled it out but cringing inside.

I have to cook a roast. I am tired. My head hurts. I feel like I have massive anxiety, am worried I have organ failure, and I have to prep for an interview tomorrow but instead I am looking at Mumsnet waiting for bedtime.

Your tummy hurts because it's indigestion not organ failure. Gaviscon and full fat coke will help. And a nap x

SnoozyLucy7 · 25/09/2022 13:22

Take some paracetamol and have a nap. Don’t cook today and get a take out, or get your parents to cook. You’ll feel a lot better in a few hours.

A bacon butty with HP sauce, if I may be so bold.. (bacon must be crispy 🥓)

Feel nauseous now after a cuppa. Have had painkillers. Slushy sounds great. It's the stomach ache that has made me think I've hurt my organs when I know full well I haven't because when I was younger I would have drank far more. I don't think red wine is my thing anymore. I know the doom and gloom I feel is the wine. But its still there. DH is completely fine.

You've got the beer fear my love.

Try some rennies or Gaviscon to soothe your stomach.

Get yourself a chinese takeaway or a pizza,
And some crisps and coke.
Maybe hair of the dog,

It's peri-menopause that's causing this. It can totally change the way your body handles alcohol.

I've taken several pregnancy tests this year because my periods have been late! And then they last for 10 days.

Like I said, peri-menopause.

Ugzbugz · 25/09/2022 13:51

Hair of the dog with dinner, you've literally had 2 glasses of wine, don't even worry about it.

DH is completely fine.

Then what are you worrying about? Go for a lie down and let him do the cooking Confused

OatALot · 25/09/2022 16:19

thanks to this thread I’m now terrified of the effect peri menopause might have on my drinking ability. I’m already a lightweight 😭
