Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm drinking my second coffee of the day, in peace. The washer's just spinning the first load of towels, and gammon's in the slow cooker for tea too 😋

I want to nip to Asda for some fruit and eggs, and the girls school shirts need ironing ready for the morning.

They did their homework yesterday since we didn't go to town, so this afternoon we'll probably do the diy hot chocolate bombs dd2 wanted to have a go at, and maybe try sugar mice again but leave them to dry out for much longer than last time!

I think I'm going to frog my current crochet project tonight and maybe pick up an unfinished dino instead...or maybe my Christmas village.

We're having a lazy morning. DS is entertaining himself. We're off to see the Burning Man exhibition at Chatsworth this afternoon.

I've just walked my dogs round the local field , now on my

Have a lot of housework to catch up on , going to make some shortbread as fancy biscuits but can't be arsed to go to the actual shops !

Woke up 7.30 then blasted a you tube work out video for 30 minutes (this is not the norm 😂 not done any exercise for weeks and weeks) then prepared sausage casserole for the slow cooker that’s been on for last few hours. Then got a shower and off to sainsbury’s cafe for lunch and a mooch about the clothes section and need to get a few essential’s missed from main shop. This afternoon’s plans are chilling , drinking endless cups of de-caf tea then prep , iron clothes for tomorrow. Oh and put on a wash and hung out to dry this morning so fingers crossed it will dry out there today

Dh has taken the dc out for a few hours and I’m totally wasting it by still being in bed.

need to get up and hang the washing out and then go and collect a couple of parcels.

can’t honestly see much else being done today…..

Currently at soft play with DS. He is having his birthday party here in a few weeks so needed to come and sign the paperwork but thought he would enjoy the run around.

Glad I booked it now as I am going to have to leave him with DH this afternoon whilst I visit DM in hospital as she had another fall yesterday. Luckily she fell just outside the hospital whilst accompanying DF to an appointment. The joys of being in the sandwich generation!

Today will be very quiet, following the pair of us having booster jabs yesterday. Dreadful headache and very sore arm. Better than being unwell though.

DD has gone to Thorpe park with her friends today, it was her birthday yesterday, this is part 2 of the celebrations! I have the house to myself, I got up early, cleaned the kitchen and did some laundry, then watched strictly (missed it last night as was out for birthday meal). Had birthday cake for breakfast while watching. Going back to bed for a nap now as didn’t get much sleep last night, then when I get up I’ll do some planning for this week (teacher here), hang up some more washing and have a soak in the bath before DD gets home.

I had a lovely lie in followed by a bath. I've pottered around doing jobs - but am settling down for a nap on the sofa with a blanket as I'm still shivery after having the double covid and flu vaccination yesterday.

Children said they will walk ddog.
