Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, and debating whether to have a walk into town to the market for some fresh fruit.

I need to put the washer on and quick tidy round first though.

If we don't head to town, both girls have homework to be done and I have prep for Tuesday evenings Rainbow and Guide meetings to sort out. I also have four tops to shorten the straps on for a friend.

I'm not sure what's for tea yet - quite fancy a curry I think 😋

Later on, I want to carry on with the cardigan I'm crocheting for myself -it's been very slow going lately!

What about all of you? 🙂

I should have been on a gorgeous forest hike this morning followed by a fun looking convention this afternoon but, after developing a lovely temperature yesterday afternoon to go with the cough that started the night before I took myself off for covid tests this morning. So yay, now I'm isolating because I've caught it again. Rude!

If I feel a bit better relatively soon I'll do some autumn sorting ready to decorate now the weather has properly turned. I will also be eating toast.

Morning @lucysmam love these threads!

We've been to the library this morning, met some friends from school there. Coffee and cake in library cafe afterwards.

Late lunch (at home) now and DC having screen time. No plans for afternoon, hope to get to finish my book

One load of uniform on the line in the autumn sunshine, another load about to go on the airers.

Lasagne for dinner with home grown runner beans.

A lovely Saturday so far!

We had a nice coffee together on the sofa this morning while DS (2) played a bit. We then had a nice croissant breakfast before going out to a jumble sale. Got some nice clothes and a new toy for DS. Came back, had lunch, DH and DS ran around like nutters for a while whilst I chilled on the sofa (I'm 21 weeks pregnant and always tired in the afternoons!).
Got some washing done, dishwasher emptied then I made a lasagne...it's currently cooking in the oven! (We're an hour ahead so it'll be dinner in 10 minutes). Bath, play, jammies, and book for DS then movie and popcorn for DH and I.
A bit of a boring day but it's been nice and relaxed ☺️

I definitely overused the word 'nice' there 🙄

Nice easy morning, playing silly games with DD. Then carers came, so DP and I were able to go out, have a mooch around our local auction house and get some lunch.
Home again via bakery for cake (lemon sponge for me, carrot for DP).
Will probably just have toast for supper and watch Strictly once DD’s in bed. I’ve never watched it before but DP has decreed that this is the year we’re going to get into it. 😁

Hastily rearranging DSs 11th birthday party whilst trying to prepare for Hurricane Ian.

Other than that, will be eating party food and drinking wine later when everyone arrives.

I went walking along The Roaches in Staffordshire then out for lunch. Just had a nap and dropping off DS at train station soon, DH is finishing plastering then sitting room ready to paint tomorrow. Just grabbed a photo off the internet but was stood literally right here earlier.

Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

DH and I met DD2, 21(!) at the London Aquarium which was her requested birthday treat.. then along the river for lunch. I shouldn't think she's been there since she was 2 or 3. Lovely to see her light up, she's had some dark times lately.
All in all, beautiful autumnal day on the South Bank.

I love your weekend thread @lucysmam and haven't come across it for a while.

We've had a lovely day. A bit of shopping this morning - ds13 has had a growth spurt so needed jeans, and we got everything we went for, which is always a bonus.

Bacon and egg rolls for lunch then we all watched ds16 play rugby this afternoon. Back now, fire lit, both teenagers in for once so we're going to catch up on some TV - Lord of the Rings on Amazon - and have homemade pizza for dinner. Toying with a glass of wine, but have a cup of tea for now.

Fridge is very nearly almost in after much time and great expenditure on tools.

Dd's room has been reorganised, unpacked a bit more and tidied. I also put a rug down and took the doors off her built in cupboard and the whole room feels so much more cosy and spacious now. That'll do until we can get round to the proper remodelling and decorating.

Fish and chips for tea. This chippy is much nicer than the first chippy we tried. Part of our familiarisation programme for the new town (moved nearly a month ago) is to work our way through all the takeaway joints in town. We have a winning Chinese and chippy now, but the indians are as yet undiscovered...

Watching strictly with a snotty DS while poor DP battles onwards with the fridge.

And to the PP who had a similar sitiation: <solidarity fist bump>. It's so fricking annoying isn't it?
