Bless Me Mumsnet, I have Sinned!

A heating engineer came to service my boiler yesterday. He asked to use the loo and I said he could. I now find that this is a mortal sin on Mumsnet. Can I ever find absolution?

My NDN often parks his trailer on my drive - AND I DON'T MIND 😮.
I happily take in parcels for neighbours and they do the same for me.
I'm sure I have other sins too heinous to mention as well. Am I beyond redemption?

FatOaf · 24/09/2022 06:51

Did you make him take his shoes off?

FatOaf · 24/09/2022 08:12

Do not be drawn into how often you change your bedding - unless it's daily then you are fine

Unless you've allowed someone to sit on the bed in their pyjamas, in which case you have to wash the bedding multiple times a day. If you've let them sit on the bed in outdoor clothes, you will have to buy a new bed.

Get used to the word "naice". I still haven't worked out what it is, but as a member of the underclass, I'll stick with my goat and not aspire to such lovely things.

Maireas · 24/09/2022 08:33

Have you got a separate sink to remove your make up and wash your face?

Maireas · 24/09/2022 08:34

Little redemption for you, it would seem.
I suggest you book a scaffolder.
Take four threads to describe and explain your contretemps with said scaffolder.

My user name should make it obvious that I don't use makeup!

We have had two lots of scaffolding in place this year both firms helpful and efficient so no contretemps. Also completely contrary to Mumsnet lore, my neighbour was quite happy to have part of it on his garden.

What?! Surely the scaffolder was rude/patronising/entitled/whatever?
I had a plumber round last week who was a delight, so hardworking and pleasant!

So? Men can wear make up.
I say go for it 😉

balalake · 24/09/2022 10:39

Upstairs one? For a visitor not staying in your house as a guest overnight? That's a first.

Yeah, but I'm not an actual dragon.

coldfeetmama · 24/09/2022 10:41

@SirGawain you should try some .. make sure you carry ID as then you'll undoubtedly look about 16 !

Please don't get upset if you are not .. I mean you could be 70 with a bus pass but that dewy glow can work miracles 😂

There are users who have clever usernames with 'Sir' in the title and men only usually refer to themselves as 'Sir' when they're obnoxious. HTH.

I once mentioned to someone that the upstairs shower was broken, and was accused of stealth boasting that our house was posh. Our house is in fact fairly modest, but we have a shower both upstairs and down because we have bedrooms on both floors.

In my user name Sir Gawain, the "Sir" indicate that Gawain is a knight of the realm and therefore the gender is clear. In reality I am really a plain "Mr".
