I know Munsnet likes a shopping list, here is one I found today in my shopping basket.

I don't think I've eaten a chop since I left home 35 hrs ago.

Are you enjoying your chop-free life now you are into day two of it ?Grin

Noteverybodylives · 23/09/2022 21:09

i think it’s got to be a person over 50 as most people write their shopping lists on their phones now.

I'm 60 and I use a shopping list app. I think you mean someone over 80?

Interesting that all the quantities are vague with the exception of the foil which is v. specific.

That's the amount specified in the hat pattern

Slavetotherhythm · 23/09/2022 21:13

I love writing out my shopping list & I do it in aisle order 🤣 I hate faffing around on my phone with Notes.

Lovely list, OP! We need more of these!

DelorisVC · 23/09/2022 21:14

I love a chop.

I'm 30 and prefer a paper list 🤷🏽‍♀️ occasionally use my phone but hate it when I do. Feels like a juggling act with the scanner and the trolley/basket/shopping etc.. a little piece of paper is way easier to scrumple up in my hand as I walk around the shop 😁

I also quite enjoy rewriting my list out neat and in the order I'll come to in the shop (although that part's tricky with my supermarket forever changing the layout 😭) Blush

ShadyPinesMa · 23/09/2022 21:22

Also my mum uses her phone so I don't think it's an age thing.

Yes 🙌🏽

It's so satisfying wring your list out neat isn't it!

I hate it when I make a mistake or write something in the wrong order 😆

Glad they got the zon foil though

I thought it was 30 metres of foil, which is a lot of hats……

JaneJeffer · 23/09/2022 21:27

Nah @viques

I found a shopping list.

Fish cod? Is there a different type of cod? 😂

😂

JaneJeffer · 23/09/2022 21:31

I mean I'm trying to be patient but if another poster tells me it's 30m...

AceofPentacles · 23/09/2022 21:34

I like the ticks and crosses, like family fortunes.

DP brings shopping lists he finds home as he knows about the MN thing for them

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 23/09/2022 22:12

I think the first item is grapes lol

I think zom foil is 30m foil.

as an aside, does anyone still write a list using pen or paper? asking as I only use my phone’s note but or do online shops; so have t stirred a list in years.

I do. On the back of used envelopes then I ignore the list mostly. But it makes me feel organised.

Great shopping list, my shopping is very dull in comparison

Sux2buthen · 23/09/2022 22:16

Ah, I thought from these posts that zon foil was the actual name for 30m foil and I just didn't knowGrin
Just looked at the list again now I feel very dim 🤦🏻‍♀️

JaneJeffer · 23/09/2022 22:23

Chelsea26 · 23/09/2022 22:31

@ShadyPinesMa i write mine in order too - so satisfying, particularly when I’d written my meal plan and then my shopping list (in order) but then broke 3 ribs and a collar bone and my sister asked if she could do anything! She came home saying “I don’t know if that’s amazing or tragic!”

I secretly wished she’d left in it a trolley to spark an epic MN thread about how great my list was.

I never do that because I want my meal plan!

No. My handwriting has always been poor, but I virtually never write now, so it’s almost illegible. If I want to put something on the shopping list, I ask Alexa to do it. (Until recently I just asked Alexa to add it to my Waitrose order, but she only talks to Ocado and Aldi don’t delivery anyway.)

Motherofalegend · 23/09/2022 23:19

I’m really surprised by the number of people writing lists!

I used to, but think I’m slightly too precious if I make a mistake and have to re-do it.I alway like to start on a clean sheet. Unlike all of my typos in MN posts that I can’t edit out 😅

Harrystylestutu · 24/09/2022 07:06

Ooh I love other people's lists! My mum writes them out in order of aisle aswell 😂 she once found one with music notes printed on, that said "Chopin list".
love a receipt aswell.

I can’t decide if I’m finding it funny or tragic that so many people can’t fathom the idea of anyone still using pen and paper to write a shopping list.

I agree. I'm in my 30s and write a paper list every time!
