I do like it when they have topics within this particular knowledge area. I doubt I'd have ever got yesterday's if they hadn't messed up on the redacting.

@SheilaFentiman the people who get it in minimal guesses play it differently to the guessers. They do a lot of counting word lengths and always check the redactle against Wikipedia pages to be sure before entering any guesses.
I play it by throwing words at it and watching the article emerge. I don't use Wikipedia or Google unless I really have to.
Both approaches are fine, but don't feel bad that you can't just guess a range of redactles across various topics from cold.

I really agree with @InMySpareTime - there are a few words I often use early on depending on what sort of thing it looks like (obvious point but for example it's less likely to be a person if it's a one word title). Sometimes they pay off and I get a low score. Often I throw words around until something sticks. I think some players particularly like the game of trying to get it in 1/2/3 guesses and will pore over the article. I don't have the attention span time for that.

Oh so many options for that second word. I think half my guesses were words that are the right length and fit after the first word.

Horrid!

I got the first word from just trying loads and loads of words, then the third word was fairly obvious. But I just couldn't get the other word, but with 1 and 3 it was easy to find the right place to look, but even then it look a few possibles before getting the right one.

And it's not the sort of article you can really get in to

Got the first word early on, and the third was obvious. Then lots of guesses for the middle word. Not fun!
