I have seen that LT intends to cut stamp duty and will announce it this week. Does anyone know how quickly this will be brought in? I can’t remember how fast it was brought in when it was cut during the pandemic.

@Shitfather it will push them up at the lower end surely like prices increased through covid. Most FTBs aren't buying over 625k

although maybe it's to stop them dropping what with the interest rate rises coming.

So what is their alternative now that they intend to cut off access to certain legal document purchase
Isn't that detrimental to economic sector such as the real estate, accounting tier and most profitable niche parastatals owned and not owned by the government

This Truss is f-ing everyone up as prices will shoot especially towards the end of the stamp duty cut as did last time - this in turn will further increase inflation.

The country is on her knees and this mini budget will make it worse just watch inflation rates in a few months time as well as mortgage rates.

Lame truss's excuse this will help those paying a mortgage, if you think that is ture then I have nothing else to add, lol

This is a permanent cut, so there isn't an end date as there was previously

That’s my point. Prices won’t be surging ahead above 625. I know this will around the 625k mark. London isn’t short of FTBs looking above this price, and so they won’t be competing in a surging market.

Ok so my point is prices will be pushed up which you agree with. Im a Londoner & most FTBs buy under 625k although yes I'm not saying they don't exist, just not the majority. I'm not sure how it won't make it harder for FTBs
