Anyone else had their flu jab cancelled?

I am not eligible for NHS flu jabs any more, so for the last four years have booked via a pharmacy. I booked online with Boots a few months ago, but have just had an email saying my booking has been cancelled. There is no reason given.

Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know why it has been cancelled? Is there a shortage of vaccine?

Many thanks

I don't know how old you all are but I went for my 5th covid vaccine and had my flu jab - but they had run out of over 65s flu jabs! Loads of the under 65 version left

I didn’t realise there were different versions of the flu jab for different age groups. Anyone have any more detailed information about this?

Just answered my own question by googling, but thanks for mentioning it Pelofondo. Apparently over 65s should have a vaccine called Fluad.

I’ve got a flu jab booked at my GP for the end of October but I don’t need a covid jab yet ( only had my spring booster a month ago) so was hoping to get a flu jab elsewhere and not on a Saturday which is when our GP does them .

I didn't even book mine, just turned up at a Lloyds as a walk-in while I was in town on the off chance.

Had to wait 10 minutes for the pharmacist and then done.

Well my query has been answered. I had a phone call from Boots who apologised and that the problem in my particular branch is down to a technical issue getting their new pharmacist registered on the system. Although I have an appointment booked for Friday I can have my jab tomorrow if I can pop in and maybe wait while they fit me in around other appointments.
I'm going to do this as I would rather just get it done!

I had my Boots flu jab today. A couple of elderly ladies had messed up their booking somehow, but the staff shuffled people around and saw them too.

I was surprised to be told that they wouldn't be contacting my GP to update my health record.

I usually get a horrid headache a couple of hours later, but seem fine so far.
