strength and conditioning coaching

DD is a very experienced youth strength/conditioning coach with incredible proven results for young sports people and would like to move more into this and away from the daytime PE teaching job. Would there be daytime opportunities in this area to work with small groups or individuals as presumably most young people would be in school? Would any private schools, colleges, universities offer any options or would it need to be with adults?

I've found that some schools are squeamish about strength training with teenagers. They spout ancient myths about it stunting growth or encouraging steroids. It can be very tiresome. Universities might be a good shout.

To be honest daytime might work nowadays with the amount of people working from home. I see my coach (weightlifting) in the evenings but in my lunch hour would be even more convenient, so she may have a market there.

I dont think her strength training is lifting heavy weights. I think daytimes would definitely work with adults but she is very experienced with youths and would like to continue in this area if it were possible in the daytime without being in schools. She wants to work with those who want to train rather than everyone. Would universities have any budget for their elite sports students? No idea how it might work there or in private schools for example.

They probably can’t unless she is a qualified teacher also. My DH is an elite S&C coach, and most schools employ gym teachers.

@Fraaahnces Yes currently working as a PE teacher but doesnt want to work with whole classes which include most students who are not interested. What does your DH do?

I don’t want to be outing, but was head of one country’s Olympic S&C and now back in our home country focusing on one particular sport.
