Otrivine drops or spray tomorrow.
you could try a warm compress on your face where the pain is for tonight. For steam to be effective you need lots, at least 20 minutes in every hour and as hot vas you can bear.

Sudafed sinus max strength (over the counter only version)

nasal rinse (neilmed) - takes getting used to but I use it religiously for repeated sinus infections and the relief is instant

I find relief by putting a warm bean bag across my cheeks and over my nose and by taking SUDAFED® Blocked Nose & Sinus Capsules

How many times have you done the steam? I did it over a hot bowl repeatedly then would massage whete it hurt then do it again an hour or so later

Thanks will get sudafed.
Never had anything like this before. Its felt odd for a couple of weeks but now have a bit of a cold and it's definitely blocked and more noticeable

I take Nurofen cold & flu, it’s amazing at relieving sinus pressure. I tried Sudafed but it makes me nauseous. It’s cheaper at Savers/Bodycare type places, otherwise it’s £6 in Boots

My GP gave me this last year. Had really helped.

Sterimar spray is a game changer for me

skilpadde · 19/09/2022 21:48

Menthol crystals (couple of quid from a pharmacy) are really effective.

Just add to your steam inhalation bowl, or get a steam inhaler cup for greater convenience.

MrsMontyD · 19/09/2022 21:50

Sudafed from a pharmacy not the version you can buy off the shelf, but don't take it for more than a few days.

I take Cetirizine Dihydrochloride one a day tablets daily at the recommendation of my GP for persistent sinus problems.

HoppyHop · 19/09/2022 21:54

This...someone up thread mentioned Nellmed sinus rinse but it's very effective. A bit weird to use at first but worth getting use to.

I know this sounds bizarre but I saw someone recommend on here to go over the congested area with the butt of an electric toothbrush and it really helped shift it for me! Sort of like a targeted massage to get things moving!

Sterimar and take an anti histamine if you have any in the house

I read this as meth crystals and thought that was slight overkill for a sinus issue

I second the Sudafed though. Messes with your appetite though. The active ingredient used to be used as a slimming tablet

Chilli81 · 19/09/2022 22:33

Sudafed doesn't always work for me. Sinutab (over the counter) is really good if you get sinus headaches.
