Allmarbleslost · 19/09/2022 21:23

No, but I snapped and farted

🤣 still makes me laugh.

britneyisfree · 19/09/2022 21:28

Hahahaha lol it's not nollywood. I probably would've queued if that was what was popping off

deedledeedledum · 19/09/2022 21:36

Screaming? Like actually belting out a scream like a zombie was chasing them? I doubt it

PollyCreo · 19/09/2022 21:45

I sobbed and fell to my knees. DH stormed off and got on a flight to Italy, leaving me in agony with my arthritic kneecaps. Wanker.

workiskillingme · 19/09/2022 22:03

No I didn't I never went
Just wondered as some people get very overwhelmed at poignant events and places and literally start wailing

OP posts:
Believeitornot · 19/09/2022 22:04

I did hear wailing when I watched some of it on tv but they cut away so no idea what happened.

LaDamaDeElche · 19/09/2022 22:04

British people don't do that 😂

Georgeskitchen · 19/09/2022 22:04

People were wailing and shrieking when Diana died. People seemed a bit more sensible about the Queens death

Hugasauras · 19/09/2022 22:05

Let me tell you about the time I went to Rome...

trollopolis · 19/09/2022 22:06

No of course not.

Did you not even see any of the interviews with people emerging from the Hall, and all the comments about the amazing hush.

No noisy twats at all, let alone wailing ones.

This thread!!!! Thank you for posting. I remember this one 😂😂😂

WeAreTheHeroes · 19/09/2022 22:34

No - by the time we got to the top of the steps of the hall I got emotional at the sight of the coffin then thought I'd better keep it together and take everything in.

This really made me lol 😂

I was wondering if anyone came out of it and said anything other than the queue was a great experience? Everyone i saw seemed to be saying that - there must have been some people who maybe found it worth it but a bit of a slog?!

IncessantNameChanger · 19/09/2022 22:55

I was queuing for 13 hours, possibly the worst time and longest part of the queue. I just felt overwhelmed I had survived the night and finally made it. The experience in the hall felt surreal to me. It was so still and so perfect it didn't feel real. Then you came out onto Westminster Bridge into mass crowds.

I am so glad I went. But tbh I couldnt have made 24 hours of queuing. Physically and mentally it was exhausting and I still feel like I have jet lag / a hangover.

The views of London by night was something rather special. I'm very familiar with London but as the queue moved past and under Tower Bridge lit up in purple and hearing everyone take a breath and say wow was very special.

Waiting on the cold floor in the dark while they did the state funeral rehearsal, not so much.

The only time I felt like screaming was when I had to move from standing to sitting. The only thing that didn't hurt was my face and arms.

I agree @IncessantNameChanger - the nighttime views were stunning. The lack of sleep/staying awake wasn't the issue. The not moving in the coldest part of the night was grim. Someone bringing us hot drinks would have been welcome at that point.

That was lifted from an Alexander McCall Smith book

What night did you go? I'm not sure who was on the original thread. I'm still feeling a bit shattered now

No but I've just laughed so much I dribble at this thread.

lifeturnsonadime · 20/09/2022 21:08

Had she been in the Sistine Chapel then the wailing sounds may have been more prominent.
