Literally a scratch. But is hot to touch.
I feel fine, have googled septis and no confusion etc. But live alone and worried.

Pics are 6 hours apart

Can you get an on the day GP appointment (at our you have to call at bang on 8am, then you get a call back, and then an appointment later in the day if necessary. I'd do that if possible, otherwise you'll be sitting in a&e for hours.
If not then yeah, a&e.

Aren't GP's closed today?

Beautifulsunflowers · 19/09/2022 07:53

Not A&e but minor injuries unit - they can prescribe antibiotics. Or if you’re unsure a pharmacist can advise you. Google pharmacists open near you today.

JustDanceAddict · 19/09/2022 07:57

def 111 - they’ll give you an urgent GP appt (esp if your GP shut today).

CornishTiger · 19/09/2022 08:00

111 they’ll do out of hours GP or minor injuries where a nurse practitioner can prescribe.

Quizzed · 19/09/2022 08:03

Don't go to A&E please call 111 they should be able to get you an out of hours doctors appointment.

If you didn't want to go to A an E my mum had an infected blister that got really bad and was prescribed antibiotics online by a private service. You fill in a form and upload a photo, it cost £30.00 I think. And they post them to you. If you google several options come up.

JessicaBrassica · 19/09/2022 08:28

It's the kind of thing that can change rapidly though.

Dh had a swollen joint on Wednesday was unwell and went to GP on thursday and was given antibiotics. No better Friday and kept throwing tablets back up and I rang GP to ask when I should escalate it and she assured me it was all fine and he wouldn't need any further input from medics. We took him to a&e on Saturday and he was admitted straight away and didn't come home for 10 days.

Going septic isn't to be messed with.

KetoSlawrus · 19/09/2022 08:29

111 or any pharmacy that has a prescribing person attached to it - really doesn't need A and E and it's often the case that grazes are warm due to the friction part of their formation (ie. a burn).

RedSnail · 19/09/2022 09:11

Are you describing it accurately when you say it covers half your leg? The photo looks like just a small patch not covering half your leg. This will affect the advice you receive.

KetoSlawrus · 19/09/2022 10:04

I missed the half way down your leg bit - that does change things but I would still call 111 rather than A and E - they will be able to tell you what to do.

Hope you are okay @PurplePrecipitations try not to panic but as another poster said don’t hang around with it as stuff like this can worsen quickly. I had quite bad cellulitis from a heel blister, just a round of antibiotics and it was ok but it did move quickly and I wouldn’t have hung around. Thinking of you anyway.
