Change of plan, we are now not eating it until dinner time- guests have been delayed. I've literally just finished making it. Will it be ok covered in a pan left on the hob?

Leave it simmering, it will be much nicer.

Shannith · 18/09/2022 15:16

Of course it will be fine.

SergeiL · 18/09/2022 15:16

Of course. That is how proper bolognese is cooked I believe. I cook mine in the pressure cooker for ages and it is lush.

Yes I mean keep it simmering.

AgentProvocateur · 18/09/2022 15:17

Of course.

Of course it will be totally fine. You could add some additional water and leave it in a very low oven, or pop it in a slow cooker if you have one or just turn.it off and reheat it later.

Connie2468 · 18/09/2022 15:17

I wouldn't leave it out for hours luke warm/room temperature. That's ideal for bacteria growth.

Either keep simmering it, or cool and refridgerate to reheat later.

MrsMitford3 · 18/09/2022 15:21

I'd simmer.

I cook my bolognaise for about 6 hours anyway-much nicer!

verastan · 18/09/2022 15:36

Hmmm. Slow cooker already has something else in. We have an induction can't decide whether to simmer or put in low oven......if I put it in fridge I'll have to leave to cool anyway?

It will be fine either way- leave on hob and reheat later, or keep simmering.

Missing the point, but what meal was meant to be happening at this time of day?
