What will happen to all of the Queens's clothes?

All her dresses, coats, hats and and handbags? (As well as most of her her belongings I guess).

I can imagine a fashion exhibit at the V&A at some point like there's have been with lots of other designers and icons. But there will be such a vast amount. A vault somewhere? I can't imagine riffling through at a local Windsor / Westminster charity shop and just finding one of her dresses hanging there. Where will they all go? There's 70 years worth!

The iconic ones will be kept and displayed from time to time.

It would be good if they could do a charity auction like they did with Diana’s outfits. I believe in past generations staff may have been offered every day stuff but I’m not sure that would still happen.

Her outfits were always bright and colorful and so expensive looking
Shame if they ended up with cobwebs somewhere

Cut up for dusters? There's all those palaces/castles and I bet she had a lot of knick-knacks

Yes I’ve wondered this as well. Maybe the nearest animal charity shop? I expect lots will be kept.

Lots of her early clothes are already in the Royal collection and have already been displayed in various exhibits at KP. There are often fashion exhibits - Fashion Rules was one of my favourites.
They also loan things to places like the Museum of London and the Imperial War Museum. I saw Princess Margaret's new look door ball gown at the IWM exhibit on 40s fashion.

I so wanted to know this too OP!

Incredible wardrobe and the quality, cut and, variety, longevity potential is as high as you could get.

Maybe some of the outfits from 20-50 years ago no longer exists.

Storage would be an issue I guess - the number of hats alone must take up a lot of space. Plus keeping everything in good condition.

Even the everyday clothes would be impeccable in style and quality.

I do hope that the V&A will be given the opportunity to set up an in-depth archive with a few display pieces. If I was a clothes designer, I'd want to have access to such a resource for research and inspiration.

I wish I had some particular items from both my grandmothers' wardrobes. I would wear them. Sadly only 1 silk dress is in my possession and everything else is gone by now. I do wear it a fair bit in the summer. The quality in those days was something else, fitting too (but there was more of an emphasis on alterations in the 40s-60s for that perfect fit), even stitching was incredible.

Obviously the royal standard would be 1000 times higher so it would be beautiful to keep what is possible.
