🤣🤣🤣

Is it April's fools day?

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 15/09/2022 17:57

Wow, the extent of modern journalism is amazing.

oofmehip · 15/09/2022 18:35

Certainly worked as clickbait anyway- I was fully expecting something more, but no. Mum texts daughter!

PuttingDownRoots · 15/09/2022 18:42

DH got a communication from his employer at the weekend saying that not everyone will be able to have the 19th off...

He's in the Army. I think they worked that out for themselves!

Pixiedust1234 · 15/09/2022 19:04

Surely it should say "daughter responds to mums text". Now that is earth shattering.

Teenyliving · 15/09/2022 19:05

I know! I clicked on this fully expecting a dramatic twist or something more than the story that a mother texted their daughter to arrange an outing.

new low point

DutchessOfMuck · 15/09/2022 19:12

I rolled my eyes as I clicked on this saying to myself what the fuckery has happened now

Bit of a anti climax op but nevertheless a much welcome one 😂😂😂😂

CharlotteSt · 15/09/2022 19:16

I thought this was going to be about the Guinea Pig Awareness Week being postponed.

TwoMonthsOff · 15/09/2022 19:23

That is a bit like our local ‘paper’
‘pigeon stuck in tree’ or ‘litter in park’

Lesserspotteddogfish · 15/09/2022 19:25

Well, it’s a bit more interesting than the many, many articles about royalty in the daily mail. “Meghan wears earrings that were gifted by the queen”. How do you right an article on that? The answer is you don’t, you have the same content to use in fifty articles, with only the title and the first line any different from the others.

I would not buy a newspaper that uses the word 'gifted' in such a way. Grin

SelfMadeWoman · 15/09/2022 19:36

At least they spelled Middlesbrough properly.

x2boys · 15/09/2022 19:40

Tbf they have nothing more to say about the Queens death that hasent already Been said a million times already and apparently there is no other news so...

Ted27 · 15/09/2022 19:41

It's not headline news though is it.

Unless you live in Teeside and use that part of the site regularly you would never see it.

2tired2bewitty · 15/09/2022 19:45

It’s all go on Teesside right now!

donquixotedelamancha · 15/09/2022 19:45

The headline (and next 10 headlines) have been 'Queen still dead' all week.

It's a hell of a coincidence that there has been no news for so long.

Georgyporky · 15/09/2022 19:46

"Mega-rich old woman dies. Peasants have to pay for her funeral."

That would have been an accurate headline.

Well it might have been worded slightly differently, but that was the gist of it :)

This is the quality journalism where I live. Who remembers the Fast Show 'Scorchio' sketches?
