Anyone been impressed with their car insurance after an accident?

My car was written off recently in an accident that was not my fault. I am with Admiral and they have been absolutely terrible. The only way to contact them is via the phone. No online chat, no-reply email addresses. I have been on hold for between 40min and over 2 hours. on 6 different occasions and 3 times been returned to the switchboard while trying to get through to claims. The paperwork side of things is ridiculous and the online portal really glitchy.

They have denied that I have courtesy car cover despite me having the document in my online file that says I do. It's the first time I have needed to use car insurance in nearly 30 years.

Has anyone had a crash and been happy with the service that they had afterwards? Would like to take my next policy out with a company that are easier to contact and more able to help. (Admiral Law have been great so far.)

@ifIwerenotanandroid Hi still no outcome, hardly any communication they gave me £3k for my car. All private and garage sales of same model and year, but lower spec and 50K more miles cost £8-9K they said that insurance wasn't meant to replace a car like for like. Everything still on going. No communication, no support. Absolute horrendous service. On the website they say here are a selection of our 5 star reviews in tiny writing. So when a new customer looks ar reviews it seems everyone is happy. The positive reviews are all from people taking out insurance - Saved me £50, etc I think they are very good at selling insurance. If you actually need to use it they are impossible to contact, put hurdles in the way and don't have any communication between departments.
It feels never ending.

Sorry to hear that, @PanannyPanoo . Surely replacing like for like is exactly what insurance is supposed to do? You should be left in the same position afterwards, not better or worse.

Yes (amazingly), Tesco. Car was a write off. It was borderline when the assessor looked at it. I didn't want a damaged, repaired, car back so he made sure he evauated it so it went down as a write off. If I remember correctly he came out with 2 days, they paid out the day after. I actually got more for the car than I had paid for it 6mths previously!
