I’ve just spent about a month watching Peaky Blinders from start to finish. The male leads were really pushed as smart dressers and cool sexy bad guys. The one they got it right for was Arthur (actor Paul ?). Fit as a butcher’s dog, ruthless but destroyed and distraught in the end. And the scene with the Russian princess…

It took me ages to work out who Cillian Murphy reminded me of. John Voigt in Urban Cowboy. Sorry.

But Tom Hardy was a real pro in that series. Droll, double crossing, self serving, sardonic and insightful throughout. Great physical acting and no need to be thought of as hot.

Tom Hiddleston’s dancing with that silly smirk is awful! Try Sam Rockwell (the homicidal maniac in The Green Mile) instead.
