BBC tv licence

I’m trying to reduce unnecessary spend and I’m thinking about the TV licence. Obviously, years ago if you had a TV they could be fairly safe to presume you watch the BBC. I’m not a big TV watcher anyway and now, with Netflix and loads of free view channels I never watch BBC. If I were to cancel my licence how would they know I wasn’t watching the BBC? Am terrified of getting in trouble!

My daughter didn't have a licence, and then had a friend staying who accessed iplayer and slicked yes, I have a licence. She tried to argue her case over the phone, but ended up buying a licence. I guess GPS tech helps them with TVs?

I'm sure I read that it doesn't matter if you actually watch the BBC (I dont) it's judged by if you could access the BBC channels. So as long as your TV gets BBC channels you need a TV licence.

I cancelled my tv lic as I only watch prime, Netflix & YouTube & haven’t heard anything, although they’re welcome to come & check!

I think you need a license if you watch any live tv. So you can only watch netflix, amazon, disney etc

I uninstalled iplayer too off Firestick- not that I ever watched it anyway!
