Hi All
Quick question if anyone can help please? My son is wanting to take my daughter, his sister to Paris to Disney. So my question is do I or me and my husband need to get any paperwork, other than the passport to allow my son to do this? We have no issues and are really happy he wants to do this for her birthday, He is an adult yet she is a child. Do they just book tickets and go or do we need to provide something official incase anyone wants to know why he is taking her out of the country?!!! Can anyone advise I would be really greatful,
Thank You all for reading

I would provide a letter of permission giving your/your dhs details and contact information just in case any questions are asked.

Yep, letter of permission plus copy of BC.

Oh thank you both so much , I wonder do you know if this can be written by us or does it have to be drawn up by a solicitor?

Just write it yourself and add your phone no.

How old is she? 5 or 15?! It will probably make a difference as to whether/how they ask her about it.

The recommended is one witnessed by a solicitor giving the parents names, DD name, name of person taking, dates from and to etc, and your own contact details (make sure you put these) - however my DD has flown to Australia a number of times to see her birth dad with members of his family and a non-solicitor letter written by me with all of the above information sufficed each time. Funnily enough they never batted an eyelid leaving the UK, I usually got phone calls though on her way back from passport control to confirm it was all above board.

Sorry, don't have any advice, just wanted to say that it's so lovely that your son wants to take his sister away by himself. It will be such a lovely memory for her and him of course too.

Thank you, They are super close. He is infact more like her second dad! she is very lucky,They do everything together, they go all over and he has taken her all over this country but waited until she was a bit bigger before they ventured abroad! She doesnt know that this trip is for her birthday so she will be delighted, She stays at his house one night at the weekend with my son and his partner and he comes over to take her out for tea one day in the week so whilst me and dad get the boring day to day parenting ,he is the fun one! He does the theme parks and the trampolining and bowling and cinema ..I do the washing and drying!!! After all the anguish of finding that my menopause was infact not and 21 yrs later from his birth she arrives it has worked out! I am super proud of all of us but him espescially, he hated being an only child and he will not have children himself so he wins both ways! Sometimes i think she is more his than ours and its perfect! Thank you for your lovely comment above it was very kind of you x I will take all the advice and get all paperwork in place just incase so they can go off on their adventure! Might even see if him indoors fancies a break away just the two of us while we are free?!!
