Are there any birth classes that are not about hypnobirthing ?

This is my second baby but my partner has not done any antenatal classes before so it might be useful. I want to have a better birth this time and I am considering having a planned caesarean. All the classes I have seen are about having a positive birth and doing hypnobirthing which I find really upsetting. I don’t want to do any positive affirmations or bounce up and down on a bouncy ball. Is there any point in going to any of them. Are there any helpful books or anything that we could do instead.

We did one with the NHS which was pretty practical. Stages of birth/pain options/feeding/bathing etc

I do think that the NHS one looks like it might be alright but DP can’t go to that one because it is during the day.

If it's your second baby and you're leaning towards a planned CS, do you really need an antenatal class? What are you hoping to get from it? Would it be better to look for a newborn/breastfeeding refresher course?

I have not had a caesarean before so I would like to know what to expect and also for DP to know what to expect. It might be a bad idea as just looking at some of the courses suggested makes me feel very panicky.

I like to be prepared for things and know what is going to happen.

I think the challenge will be that every traditional antenatal class spends a lot of time on labour and coping mechanisms. I used to teach NHS antenatal classes and it is a bit of a whirlwind, but there will definitely be talk of bouncing on birthing balls!

I googled antenatal classes for Caesarean section and several options came up, so I'd check out one of those.
