Sick of dieting.. how to go it alone?

Hi,

For a while now I've tried to get back into calorie counting and with little luck (usually just day to day life that seems to get in the way)

I'm not a very unhealthy person, we don't have take aways on a weekly basis (probably once a month) and rarely eat out but my downfall is coffee and a treat from Starbucks/costa.

I'm getting fed up with dieting and wanted to try just eating healthier in general.

How do I keep up this motivation and try to go off my clothing fit and feel rather than revolving around the scales?

For ref, I'm 5ft 6 and around 13 stone 2lb.

For me personally I sit okay at a 12st 7lb and my clothes fit comfortably at this weight (it's taken me a long time to bite the bullet and get clothes in my size that look and fit correctly for my shape) rather than just focusing around the numbers etc on sizes.

TIA Smile

I'm dieting and feel the same. I don't eat between meals now - if I do, it's a piece of fruit. I drink coffee black and without sugar (enforced by staff room shortages but a habit now).

After a month, I'm getting to the stage where I no longer feel hungry and look for food. It's not fun though.

If you've done a lot of dieting you know the basic ideas and what is going to work for you. I know that plain yoghurt and fruit is a good breakfast for me, or eggs. Porridge, weetabix etc, whilst in theory good, have me starving by 10am. I can get soup and salad at work, or chicken and salad so I do that and then just try to have something sensible, "normal" and not too complicated for dinner. I work FT and am a single parent so lots of faffy recipes, even if batch cooked don't really work for me, it has to be normal food. So watch portion sizes, don't drink through the week, and don't snack in front of Netflix after 9pm. And move if you can, step count or swim or whatever. It has to be normal life, just a better version of it.

I'm dieting, but in a very loose way. I don't drink any tea/coffee with milk or sugar. Don't eat any carb with meals. That's it. I practically eat what I want, still snack on chocolate/cookies/ice creams.
I hate exercise, so I don't do any. But I've got really into dry brushing and lymph massage so I do it everyday.
In about 3 months, now I have lost some weight. I don't know how much, but I know my waist on my jeans are loose.
