Why is my hair turning white?

I've had a stressful time at uni due to family drama, getting covid twice and exams. Shall I see a doctor?

No such thing as grey hairs. They are white and just look grey when mixed with non white hair.

It could be stress-related. I developed a white streak at the front in my 20’s after my Mum died. It could also be genetic. You can ask your doctor about it, I’m not sure what, if anything can prevent it.

Are you a redhead? Red goes first! I'm a burnished brunette, dark brown shot through with individual strands of red and copper and gold. The red started turning white in my 20's and the gold in my 30's, for a salt and pepper effect.

Or stress, as others have said. If might regrow with colour once the stress has passed.

This happened to me, but it stopped turning white once I had finished painting the ceiling.
