Snacks for adults!

Can anyone suggest any snacks that meet this criteria:
Healthy (not too processed)
Quick/easy
Not too expensive
Portable e.g. can be grabbed on the way out to eat in the car

I keep not eating because I don't have anything like this in the house. The thing that fits the criteria is hard boiled eggs (if I prepare in advance) but it's an endurance test to eat them without gagging, due to the texture I think 😄 . Cheese is good but I need a bit more variety. Any suggestions appreciated!

Fruit.
Vegetables.
Grab a dip to spice it up.

Bananas are good as they come in their own carry case.

Carrots
Mimi cucumber
any small fruits & berries
Breadsticks or cracker bred or similar
Rice cakes
Houmous, yoghurt or cheese.

Honestly, it only takes 5 min to prepare and can be done in the evening.

Hard boiled eggs. DH does a batch at the beginning of the week and grabs one when he wants a snack.

Sausagis · 07/09/2022 22:11

Decant big pot of plain yogurt into individual pots. Add flavoring like honey or lemon curd or strawberry sauce. Can have a separate small pot of granola to add.

chunkofcheese · 07/09/2022 22:16

Love these, thank you! Esp the yoghurt and sauce/granola pots

Clearly a lot of MNers are braver than me: I wouldn't want to risk spilling yoghurt in the car, even now we're heading into cooler months 🤢

MarmiteCoriander · 07/09/2022 22:28

Why can't you prepare something the night before and grab from the fridge on the way out?

  • cold chicken drumsticks, with a serviette wrapped around the bony part as a handle
  • Carrot, pepper and/or celery sticks in a Tupperware type box with a tub of hummus in there too
  • Celery stick with peanut butter inside
  • As it gets colder, what about soup in flask. I bought a thermos with a wider opening, so can be used to keep food hot or cold and can be eaten out of too. In the past I've keep chicken thighs warm in it, pasta, stews etc. this is mine, but I'm sure other brands have a wider opening too:

Maybe I've misunderstood?

OP- are you planning on eating this whilst ALSO driving a car??? Or someone else is driving and you can eat?
